We collect only the information you choose to send us. If you submit our appointment request or contact form, that means the name, phone number, email address and any message you enter. If you call us, we record the information you provide over the phone in the ordinary course of scheduling.
This website does not require an account, does not have a login, and does not host comments or user submissions of any other kind.
Please Do Not Send Medical Information Through This Website
Our web forms and email are not secure channels and should not be used to send detailed medical information, diagnoses, images, insurance identifiers or anything else you would consider confidential health information. Please use the form only to request an appointment or ask a general question, and share clinical details by phone or in person, where we can protect them appropriately.
How We Use Your Information
We use what you send us to respond to you — to schedule or confirm an appointment, answer a question, or verify insurance benefits before your visit. We do not sell your information, rent it, or share it with third parties for their marketing purposes. We do not send marketing email to people who contact us through this site.
Cookies and Analytics
This website does not use cookies. Nothing is stored in your browser to identify you, and nothing follows you to other websites.
We use Vercel Web Analytics to see which pages are visited and how the site is performing. It works without cookies: visits are counted using a temporary value derived from the request, which is discarded after 24 hours. It records the page visited, the site you arrived from, your approximate location (country and region), and your browser and device type. It does not record your IP address, and it cannot identify you or recognise you across other websites.
We do not use advertising cookies, remarketing, or any advertising network.
Other Services We Rely On
A few things on this site are provided by other companies. We keep this list short deliberately, and we have named all of them:
- Vercel hosts the website and provides the analytics described above.
- Web3Forms delivers our appointment request form to us by email, and keeps a copy of submissions for 30 days as a backup in case delivery fails. This is why the form does not ask for medical details.
- Microsoft 365 runs our email.
- Google Maps provides the two maps on our Contact page. These load from Google and are subject to Google’s privacy policy. If you would rather not load them, our addresses are written out in text on the same page.
- Google Fonts supplies the typefaces used across the site, which means your browser requests those font files from Google.
Third-Party Links
Some pages link to outside organizations such as the American Society of Hand Therapists or professional certification bodies. Once you follow a link away from this site, that organization's own privacy practices apply, not ours.
Data Retention
Messages submitted through the website are kept only as long as needed to respond to your inquiry and to maintain ordinary business records. Records relating to your treatment are retained according to New York State requirements for medical records, which is a separate matter from this website.
Children's Privacy
This website is not directed to children and we do not knowingly collect information from children through it. We do treat pediatric patients; scheduling for a minor should be handled by a parent or guardian.
Your Choices
You can ask us what information we hold from your website inquiry, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Call our office at (631) 761-6996 and we will take care of it. Requests concerning your medical record are handled under our HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices rather than this policy.
