Meet the Founder

C.J. Allen, OTR/L, CHT

C.J. Allen grew up in Suffolk County, Long Island, and graduated from St. Anthony's High School in South Huntington. He earned his Occupational Therapy degree at Quinnipiac University in 2001, then began his career and extensive upper extremity training at New York Presbyterian Hospital and at a private physician-operated practice on Long Island, both under the auspices of world-renowned hand surgeons.

C.J. earned his CHT (Certified Hand Therapist) credential and has worked in private practice since 2003, before opening the doors to his own practices in Hauppauge and Smithtown, NY. He has over 20 years of experience rehabilitating all upper extremity conditions — shoulder, elbow, forearm, wrist and hand, both post-surgical and non-operative — and extensive experience fabricating upper extremity orthoses, from simple carpal tunnel and arthritis splints to elaborate mobilization devices.

“I went to C.J. Allen OT Upper Extremity & Hand Therapy following several different procedures; The first two occasions was for custom formed casts following hand surgery. The most recent was for shoulder therapy for a torn rotator cuff. CJ was able to relieve a muscle spasm that had been hurting for years, and may have strained the ligament thereby causing the tear.
