Repetitive Strain and Nerve Compression
Some of the most common problems we see develop gradually rather than from a single injury: numbness that starts at night, a thumb that aches after a long shift, tingling in the first three fingers during a commute with hands on the wheel. These are nerve and tendon problems in their early stages, and early is precisely when they are most treatable.
Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
Carpal tunnel syndrome results from compression of the median nerve at the wrist. Classic signs are night-time numbness, tingling in the thumb, index and middle fingers, and dropping objects as grip weakens. Many cases respond well to conservative treatment — a properly fitted night orthosis, nerve gliding, activity modification — particularly when addressed before the numbness becomes constant. When surgery is needed, we handle the rehabilitation afterward.

Don't Wait It Out
Nerve symptoms that come and go tend to be dismissed as fatigue. But a nerve compressed long enough eventually stops recovering fully between episodes, and at that point outcomes are meaningfully worse regardless of what treatment follows. If numbness or tingling has been present on and off for more than a few weeks, it is worth an evaluation.
Custom Splinting
We fabricate orthoses on site, molded to your hand. For carpal tunnel in particular, the difference between a drugstore wrist brace and a properly made night splint is substantial — the off-the-shelf version usually holds the wrist in extension, which is the position that raises pressure inside the carpal tunnel rather than relieving it.
Ergonomics and Technique
Where work or hobbies are contributing, we look at how you actually use your hands and adjust it — grip mechanics, tool selection, workstation height, wrist position, and how long you go between breaks. Changing tissue tolerance without changing what is loading it tends to produce a relapse.
One-on-One Care
Sessions are with the same Certified Hand Therapist throughout, for the full appointment. Progress in hand therapy is measured in small, precise increments, and consistent eyes on it are what catch a plateau early.
Elbow Conditions
Tennis elbow, golfer's elbow and cubital tunnel syndrome are common and frequently mismanaged. Lateral epicondylitis in particular tends to be treated with rest alone, which reduces pain temporarily and does very little for the underlying tendon. Loading the tendon correctly — progressively, at the right intensity — is what actually resolves it, and that requires a structured program rather than a brace and time.
How Many Visits Will I Need?
Most conditions run six to eighteen visits, more frequent at the start and tapering as you take over the program. Post-surgical rehabilitation follows the healing timeline and takes longer. We give you a realistic estimate up front and revise it openly if things change.
Your Home Program
The work between visits is where most of the recovery happens. We keep the program short and specific, confirm your technique in the clinic, and progress it as you improve — particularly important for nerve conditions, where doing too much too aggressively can aggravate the very symptoms you are treating.
