C.J. Allen, OTR/L, CHT

C.J. Allen grew up in Suffolk County, Long Island, and graduated from St. Anthony's High School in South Huntington. He earned His Occupational Therapy degree at Quinnipiac University in 2001 in Hamden, Ct. He began his career and extensive upper extremity training at New York Presbyterian hospital and at a private physician-operated practice on Long Island, both under the auspices of world-renowned hand surgeons. C.J. went on to earn his CHT(certified hand therapist), and has worked in private practice since 2003, before deciding to open the doors to his own private practice in Hauppauge, NY.

Experience

C.J. has over 20 years experience in rehabilitating all upper extremity conditions, including shoulder, elbow, forearm, wrist and hand, both post-surgical and non-operative, keeping up with all of the latest treatment techniques, and understanding all of the latest surgical procedures.  C.J. also has extensive experience fabricating all upper extremity orthoses as determined by diagnosis, from simple carpal tunnel and arthritis splints to elaborate mobilization devices.

 

Matthew Alpert

Matthew Alpert, MS, OTR/L, CHT

Matthew Alpert, OTR/L, CHT has extensive experience treating upper extremity conditions affecting the shoulder, elbow, wrist, and hand. Matthew graduated Magna Cum Laude from Touro University in 2015 with a Bachelor of Health Science and Master of Science: Occupational Therapy. In addition to being a clinician, Matthew holds multiple adjunct faculty including Touro University and SUNY Nassau Community College where he teaches Anatomy & Physiology. Matthew has been dedicated to delivering the best evidence-based treatment to the clinic.

 

Sarah Exposito, MS, OTR/L

Sarah Exposito earned her Bachelor of Science: Speech-Language Pathology with a minor in coaching at SUNY Buffalo State University where she also competed as a collegiate swimmer. Her passion to empower individuals with intellectual, sensory, and orthopedic needs led her to discover the field of Occupational Therapy (OT). With this focus in mind, Sarah went on to continue her educational journey at Hofstra University where she earned her Master of Science: Occupational Therapy. Soon after receiving her license, Sarah joined the team at C.J. Allen OT Upper Extremity & Hand Therapy as a bilingual therapist offering evaluative and therapeutic services in Spanish. She has chosen to specialize in the rehabilitation of the upper extremity and is pursuing becoming a Certified Hand Therapist (CHT).

Sarah is dedicated to providing individualized client-centered therapy with a strong focus on activity analysis in order to prevent future risk of injury and promote improved occupational performance. In addition to hand therapy, she has experience treating pediatric populations and providing related special education services. Aside from being a clinician, Sarah is a triathlete and a coach for a local master’s swim team where she trains competitive athletes in conditioning and stroke technique.

Olivia Myszkowski, MS, OTR/L, CHT

Olivia Myszkowski is an Occupational Therapist and Certified Hand Therapist. She graduated from Stony Brook University in 2015 with a Bachelor’s in Health Science and graduated from Touro University in 2018 with a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy where she specialized in Upper Extremity Rehabilitation. As a graduate student, Olivia completed her fieldwork at CJ Allen Hand Therapy and joined the team a few months later after graduating. Olivia specializes in working with injuries spanning from the shoulder to the fingers including fabricating custom splints. She uses an individualized approach to customize each treatment to help her patients become independent again so they can resume all functional activities and return to doing what they love. In addition, Olivia is an adjunct faculty at Touro University where she teaches Prosthetics and Orthotics.
